XL Group Strengthens Insurance Operations in Iberia and Latin America with new Client & Distribution Leader Roles

Madrid, Spain, June 13, 2012 – XL Group's (NYSE: XL) insurance operations (“XL Group”) announced the appointment of José Ramón Morales as Client & Distribution Leader for Iberia, focused on serving clients and brokers in Spain and Portugal. At the same time, it was announced that Luis San Juan, also a Client & Distribution Leader, will assume responsibility for driving new business with local clients in Latin America. Both are based in Madrid and report to Bruno Laval, Regional Manager Iberia & Latin America for XL Group.José Ramón Morales joins XL Group from AXA, where he was Head of Commercial Lines with responsibility for Spain, Southern Europe and Latin America as well as the Middle East. Before that he held different management and underwriting roles with QBE Insurance, Aon Re and Gen Re.
