MADRID, SPAIN - November 12, 2013
To address the increasing need for Environmental coverage in Iberia and Latin America, XL Group’s insurance operations announced the appointment of Rodrigo Díaz as Environmental Underwriter for the region. Mr. Díaz joined XL Group on 28 October 2013 and reports to Adias Gerbaud, who earlier this year was promoted to Regional Underwriting Manager, Environmental Liability, France, Italy, Iberia & Latin America.
Ms. Gerbaud commented: “We’ve seen European environmental legislation change considerably. Since the 1970s, the EU has agreed over 200 pieces of environmental legislation and further changes are expected to come. As a result, European companies are faced with increased exposures. As one of the longest-serving providers of environmental insurance worldwide, we can help our brokers and clients navigate their environmental risk and liabilities and provide solutions for these exposures.

Mr. Díaz brings over 13 years of environmental experience. His expertise include Environmental Impairment Liability (EIL), brokerage and risk management, environmental consultancy, and contaminated soil, water and waste management. He has a Master’s Degree in Environmental Diagnostics and a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science.
