XL Group Appoints David Poh

XL Group has appointed David Poh as Construction Underwriting Manager, Asia. He will report to Max Benz, Underwriting Manager, Construction, International, and will be based in Singapore.  

Commenting, Craig Langham, who leads XL Group’s insurance operations in the Asia Pacific region, said: “Construction spending in the Asia Pacific markets has dramatically increased over recent years and analysts expect this trend to continue.

“There are currently many large scale construction/infrastructure projects planned or onsite across Asia, particularly for the energy and transportation sectors. These large, complex projects require sophisticated insurance solutions, delivered by experienced underwriters.

“We are delighted to welcome David to XL Group and to be able to count on his vast experience to support our client base in the region.” 

David joins XL Group from Zurich Insurance Company Ltd, Singapore, where he worked as Construction Underwriting Manager, Southeast Asia. A strong technical underwriter, David brings great market and industry knowledge of writing a wide spectrum of large and complex engineering, property and construction risks.
