XL Group Appoints André Liebkopf, Senior Vice President, Head of Aviation Reinsurance

London, UK - May 17, 2013

XL Group today announced that it has appointed André Liebkopf Senior Vice President, Head of Aviation Reinsurance.Mr. Liebkopf joins from Swiss Reinsurance Company, Zurich, Switzerland, where he held the position of Director, Aviation Reinsurance with portfolio management responsibilities for global clients operating in the London, North American, Latin American, and Eastern European Markets.

Before joining Swiss Reinsurance Company, André was at Munich Reinsurance Company, Munich, Germany, where in addition to his Aviation Treaty responsibilities, he also held the title of Executive Manager Lloyd’s Property. The role involved managing the company’s Lloyd’s Property syndicates between 2010 and 2011.  André began his career with Munich Re in 2003 as a Facultative Aviation underwriter.

A Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII), André also holds a degree in Business Administration from University of Applied Sciences, Cologne, Germany. Mr. Liebkopf joins XL Group later this year reporting to Marcus Gonzales, General Manager UK Branch and Head of International Casualty Reinsurance.
