XL Catlin Appoints Edith Fontaine as Senior Underwriter – Marine for France

Paris, France - May 04, 2016

XL Catlin’s insurance operations today announced that Edith Fontaine has joined as Senior Underwriter, Marine for France.

Commenting on the appointment, Bruno Laval, Country Manager, France – Insurance and Regional Director, Southern Europe, said: “Freight transport and trade play important roles in the French economy, with Le Havre and Marseille being amongst Europe’s largest commercial ports. I am therefore delighted that we have appointed a seasoned Marine specialist to further support our Marine clients in France.”

Tania Bensoussan-Arthur, Specialty Underwriting Manager – France, further explained: “Edith will help develop our portfolio in France and ensure the delivery of our key solutions: Project Cargo, Marine Cargo Insurance, Freight Forwarders Liability Insurance. She brings to the team her strong expertise in Cargo underwriting and her deep knowledge of the French market.”

Edith has over 20 years’ experience in Marine insurance. She started her career in 1995 with Albingia before joining CNA Insurance Ltd. where she spent 10 years as a Cargo underwriter. In 2008, she joined RSA Insurance Group plc where she played a key role in developing the company’s French Marine portfolio, first as a Cargo underwriter and since 2014 as Underwriting Manager, Marine.
