AXA XL today announced it has promoted Annemiek Goetheer to Underwriting Manager, Financial Lines – Benelux and Jan-Peter Sluys to Operations Lead – Benelux. Both appointments are effective November 1st.

Ms. Goetheer will be responsible for the management of AXA XL’s International Financial Lines in the Benelux, while Mr. Sluys will lead the company’s Middle Office teams in the region.

Commenting on Ms. Goetheer’s promotion, Alain Wijnants, Country Manager – Benelux at AXA XL, said: “From recent developments in the Directors & Officers insurance market to the growth in demand for standalone cyber coverage, our clients and brokers are turning to us to find relevant solutions to address their risks. Having been a financial lines underwriting expert for over a decade, Annemiek is well-known to our partners and is perfectly positioned to help us deliver on our goals as we look to continue supporting our clients in the Benelux”.

Regarding Mr. Sluys’ promotion, he said: “I have no doubt that Jan-Peter will be successful in his new role. He has extensive experience and a lengthy track record of delivering exception client service, which will be key assets to ensure and further improve the quality of service our partners have come to expect from us.”

Ms. Goetheer has more than ten years of experience in the insurance industry. She started her career with Zurich Insurance Plc before joining AXA XL in 2016 as a Senior Underwriter, Professional Indemnity and Cyber for the Benelux.

Mr. Sluys has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. He has held a number of claims roles at RSA and Achmea before joining AXA XL as Claims Manager in 2011. Most recently, he was Country Claims Manager for Belgium.
