AXA XL in Iberia strengthens leadership team with key promotions

Madrid - September 23, 2022

AXA XL Insurance today announced a number of promotions within its Iberia operation, with colleagues appointed to its local leadership team as of October 1:

• Iván Blanco is appointed Underwriting Manager, Property, Construction & Energy – Iberia
• Patrick Lee-Warner is appointed Underwriting Manager, Financial Lines – Iberia
• Mariano Fisac is appointed Head of Claims – Iberia
• Clara Martínez is appointed Middle Office Operations Lead – Iberia

In addition, Francisco Triviño, previously Underwriting Manager, Property, becomes Executive Advisor to Enrique López Torrents, Country Manager – Iberia, ahead of his retirement in January 2023.

Mr. López Torrents commented: “As we enter a new chapter for our Iberia operations, we have simplified the organization of our leadership team to bring decision-making even closer to our clients and brokers.”

Iván Blanco has more than 20 years of experience in the sector, he started his career with Vitalicio Seguros as Construction Underwriter and joined AXA XL in 2007 as Energy & Construction Underwriting Manager.

Patrick Lee-Warner started his career over 20 years ago and has since held a number of underwriting positions at Liberty, ACE Europe and, since 2014, at AXA XL, within our Financial Institutions team.

Mariano Fisac has been with AXA XL as a casualty claims leader since 2017. Prior to joining AXA, he spent 10 years at Zurich Insurance.

Clara Martínez started her career as a Portfolio Manager at Banco de Santander before joining AXA in 2005. She held various positions within the Group and was Head of Distribution Efficiency & Digital before joining AXA XL as Chief of Staff to the Country Manager.
