
AXA XL appoints Jean-Baptiste de Malartic as Underwriting Manager, Cargo in France

AXA XL Insurance today announced it has appointed Jean-Baptiste de Malartic as Underwriting Manager, Cargo – France. In this role, he will be responsible for AXA XL’s cargo underwriting strategy in France.
Commenting on the appointment, Julien Guénot, Country Leader, France, said: “With Marseille and Le Havre among Europe’s largest ports, France plays a key role in European Union trade, 75% of which is shipped by sea. The marine sector is vital for the French economy and, as a leading marine insurer, we are committed to supporting our France-based clients and brokers with their cargo risks, through the current crisis and beyond.”

Mr. Malartic has more than 10 years’ experience in insurance. He joined AXA in 2014 as Business Development Manager, Development & Innovation before becoming a Cargo underwriter in 2016.
