AXA XL appoints Herbert Cheung as Client Distribution Leader Hong Kong

AXA XL Insurance today announced the appointment of Herbert Cheung as Client Distribution Leader, Hong Kong, effective 30 May 2022.

In his new role, Mr. Cheung will be responsible for enhancing client engagement and broker management. Mr. Cheung will define and drive the distribution strategy in Hong Kong, leveraging regional assets across the business. He reports to Jamie Chambers, Country Manager, Hong Kong.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Chambers said: “In these challenging times, our clients and brokers are looking for sustainable partners who are going to be around for the long term. Mr. Cheung has extensive industry knowledge. Most recently, he held the position of Head of Business Development, North Asia at Starr International Insurance (Asia). Prior, he was Head of Market Management, Hong Kong & Greater China at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE and earlier in his career, spent 10 years with Chubb Specialty Insurance (formerly ACE) holding a variety of positions from Senior Underwriter to Assistant Vice President and Head of Global Broker Distribution.

Mr. Cheung is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin and holds a BA in Economics from Carleton University in Canada.
